I apologise and fair comment. The fault however was mine alone and I would not like his to reflect on the other committee members. You are quite right I should have sent out an email to the CATS list, my apologies for not doing so. I tried my best in getting the message out by ringing up the other clubs and riders that I had contact details for as I do not have contact details for riders from other clubs.
Cadel Evans leads a record year for cycling at the 28th Australian Sport Awards

Cadel Evans has been named OAMPS Insurance Brokers Male Athlete of the Year today leading a record seven awards for cycling in the 2007 Australian Sport Awards.
The Australian Sport Awards are the only awards in Australia to recognise achievements across all sports in all areas of the sporting sector. The Awards were announced via a special online video presentation in conjunction with media partner SBS Television at www.australiansportawards.com.au and www.sbs.com.au. Video presentations of the Gold Award winners can be viewed from today on both websites.
Cadel's landmark year ended with the Victorian cyclist ranked number one on the UCI ProTour and he became the first Australian to finish on the podium in the 104 year history of the Tour de France. Cycling also made a clean sweep of the awards recognising the performance of junior sports people including, Young Australian Male Athlete of the Year, Young Australian Female Athlete of the Year and the Young Australian Team of the Year with the record breaking performance of the Australian Junior Road Cycling and Track Cycling Teams. Collectively the team won eight gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the UCI Junior World Championships inMexico last August. Josephine Tomic, triple junior world champion and junior world record holder in the individual pursuit was named Young Australian Female Athlete of the Year. Not to be outdone, Travis Meyer, who also collected three gold medals in Mexico, took out Young Australian Male Athlete of the Year.
At the other end of the competition spectrum, Ron Boyle won the Masters Athlete of the Year after he won multiple titles at the Masters Track Cycling World Championships held in Sydney last October. The Masters Team of the Year was won by the Australian Masters Team Sprint who also competed in Sydney. Arthur Kennedy, Ron Boyle and Andrew Burne defeated Britain in the ride for Gold winning by more than a second and a half.
To top it off, the Tour Down Under won the Sport Tourism Award ahead of the Arafura Games and Hamilton Island Race Week.
